Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step ensures that the correct procedures are used when attempting to verify the operation of the rear folding seat. The rear seat module (RSM) must be enabled before the rear folding seat system will operate. Enabling the RSM using the remote keyless entry transmitter or the driver door/passenger door lock switch unlock sequence allows for the system to operate for 120 seconds before timing out. The RSM will restart the timing procedure after each time the recline or stow switch is pressed. Enabling the RSM by placing the ignition in either the ON or ACCESSORY positions allows for continuous operation of the folding seat system without the time out feature.

  2. This step verifies if the rear seat module (RSM) is calibrated. The module must be calibrated in order for the folding seat system to operate.

  3. This step determines from which stow switch the folding seat is inoperative.

  4. This step checks the existing state of the back panel position switch by using the current state of the switch parameter. If the power folding seat is in a position other than the seated or stowed position, the back panel position switch should be open and the Back Panel Position Switch parameter should display Inactive.

  5. This step checks the existing state of the load floor position switch by using the current state of the switch parameter. When the back panel is in the folded position the load floor position switch should be closed to voltage and the Load Floor Position Switch parameter should display Inactive.
