No Audio from Front Speakers, or No Audio from A-Pillar Tweeters, or No Audio from OnStar - kw GMT265 noaudio pinched nosound radio speaker trim

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Concerns of no audio from the front speakers, or no audio from the A-pillar tweeters, or no audio from OnStar, may be caused by a pinched A-pillar tweeter wire at the left instrument panel (I/P) mount.

Remove the left I/P end cap (refer to SI document ID 808743). Inspect the tweeter harness breakout wires as they go up into the A-pillar. There are two wires, a yellow and a tan colored wire, circuit numbers 1856 and 1956, which may be trapped behind the I/P retaining nut at the alloy structure. Repair and reroute the wires using standard practices. The assembly process added a stiffener to the wire harness in the affected area on 8/16/04 to prevent the condition from occurring.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
