Battery Replacement LHD Side Post

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1863327 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  3. Loosen the positive battery cable bolt.
  4. Remove the positive battery cable (1) from the battery.

    5. Object Number: 1863328 Size: SH
  5. Remove the battery insulator (1).

    6. Object Number: 1863331 Size: SH
  6. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and retainer (2).
  7. Remove the battery from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1863331 Size: SH
  1. Install the battery to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2) and bolt (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  3. Install the battery insulator.

    4. Object Number: 1863327 Size: SH
  4. Position the battery positive cable (1) to the battery.
  5. Tighten the positive battery cable bolt.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  6. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

Battery Replacement RHD

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1863279 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  3. Loosen the positive battery cable bolt.
  4. Remove the positive battery cable (2) from the battery.

    5. Object Number: 1863398 Size: SH
  5. Remove the battery insulator.

    6. Object Number: 1863397 Size: SH
  6. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and retainer (2).
  7. Remove the battery from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1863397 Size: SH
  1. Install the battery to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2) and bolt (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  3. Install the battery insulator.

    4. Object Number: 1863279 Size: SH
  4. Position the battery positive cable (2) to the battery.
  5. Tighten the positive battery cable bolt.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  6. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
