Heater Inlet Hose Replacement LY7

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  3. Remove the cowl panel retaining bolts.
  4. Remove the cowl panel.

  6. Using J 38185 slide the clamp away from the base of the heater inlet hose.
  7. Remove the inlet heater hose from the heater core.

  8. Object Number: 1207439  Size: SH
  9. Using J 38185 slide the clamp away from the base of the heater inlet hose.
  10. Remove the clamp and hose from the engine cooling thermostat assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1207439  Size: SH
  1. Install the inlet heater hose to the engine cooling thermostat assembly.
  2. Using J 38185 slide the clamp back into the original position on the hose.

  3. Object Number: 1207436  Size: SH
  4. Install the inlet heater hose to the heater core.
  5. Using J 38185 slide the clamp back into the original position on the hose.
  6. Install the cowl panel.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the cowl panel retaining bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (13 lb ft).

  10. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
