    • EN 46106 Engine Flywheel Holding Tool
    • J 41998-B Crankshaft Balancer Installer
    • J 45059 Angle Meter

    Object Number: 945978  Size: SH
  1. The EN 46106 must be installed onto the flywheel.
  2. Use the J 41998-B , nut, bearing and washer to install the crankshaft balancer.

  3. Object Number: 1871087  Size: SH

    Important: Do not lubricate the crankshaft front oil seal or crankshaft balancer sealing surfaces. The crankshaft balancer is installed into a dry seal.

  4. Apply lubricant to the inside of the crankshaft balancer hub bore.

  5. Object Number: 1871065  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure the crankshaft balancer keyway is aligned with the crankshaft key.

  6. Place the crankshaft balancer in position on the crankshaft.

  7. Object Number: 1871085  Size: SH
  8. Thread the J 41998-B in the crankshaft. Ensure you engage at least 10 threads of the J 41998-B before pressing the crankshaft balancer in place.
  9. Push the crankshaft balancer into position by tightening the nut on the J 41998-B until the large washer bottoms out on the crankshaft end.
  10. Remove the J 41998-B .

  11. Object Number: 1871061  Size: SH
  12. Install the crankshaft balancer bolt.
  13. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  14. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt.
  15. Tighten

    1. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 150 degrees using the J 45059 .

  16. Remove the EN 46106 .
