The memory seat module monitors the locations of both pedal assemblies in order to prevent a step over condition from occurring. During adjustable pedal system operation the difference between brake and accelerator position sensor inputs to the memory seat module must not exceed 31 counts. Any time adjustable pedal system components are replaced, such as a memory seat module or pedal position sensors, the system must be calibrated. The calibration procedure allows the memory seat module to store both position sensor values through the full range of pedal travel. In order for the calibration to begin and complete the position sensor inputs to the memory seat module must remain within 23 counts of one another.
