Circuit/System Description

The intrusion sensor detects movement within the vehicle while parked. B+ is supplied to the inclination sensor at all times and the body control module (BCM) arms the sensor using the armed signal circuit. If movement is detected while armed, BCM is informed via the intrusion sensor alarm on circuit. The BCM will then send a signal to the rear (auxiliary) body control module (RBCM) to sound the content theft alarm.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the intrusion sensor.
  2. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal A and ground.
  3. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X7 harness connector at the BCM.
  5. Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the following signal circuit terminals and ground:
  6. • Signal circuit terminal 12
    • Signal circuit terminal 15
If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  7. Test for infinite resistance between the following signal circuit terminals and ground:
  8. • Signal circuit terminal 12
    • Signal circuit terminal 15
If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  9. Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 15 at the BCM and the signal circuit terminal C at the inclination sensor.
  10. If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
  11. Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 12 at the BCM and the signal circuit terminal B at the inclination sensor.
  12. If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
  13. Ignition OFF, connect the X7 harness connector at the BCM. Disconnect the X3 harness connector at the BCM and the X1 harness connector at the RBCM.
  14. Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the signal circuit terminal B9 and ground.
  15. If the greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  16. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal B9 and ground.
  17. If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  18. Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the signal circuit terminal B9 at the RBCM and the signal circuit terminal 7 at the BCM.
  19. If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
  20. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the intrusion sensor.
