Roof Rail Rear Assist Handle Replacement for Cadillac SRX 2008

1. Remove the center pillar garnish trim. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
2. Lower the headliner to access the assist handle fastener. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .



3. Remove the 2 screws (2) that retain the assist handle (1) to the roof.
4. Remove the assist handle.

1. Position the assist handle (1) to the roof.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the two fasteners in order to retain the assist handle to the roof.

Tighten
Tighten the 2 screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

3. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
4. Remove the center pillar garnish trim. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
