Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement Left Hand Drive

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  2. Remove the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  3. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

  4. Object Number: 1301688  Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.

  6. Object Number: 1371690  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering cooler inlet and outlet hose assembly (with V92) or the power steering fluid cooler (without V92).

  8. Object Number: 1301495  Size: SH
  9. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.

  10. Object Number: 908682  Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses from the steering gear.
  12. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering gear outlet hose to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 908682  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses to the steering gear.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1301495  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  7. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering cooler inlet and outlet hose assembly (with V92) or the power steering fluid cooler (without V92).

  8. Object Number: 1301688  Size: SH
  9. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  12. Install the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  13. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  14. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement Right Hand Drive

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  2. Remove the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  3. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

  4. Object Number: 1301688  Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.

  6. Object Number: 1371690  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering cooler inlet and outlet hose assembly (with V92) or the power steering fluid cooler (without V92).
  8. Lower the rear of the front frame to make room for removing the power steering gear outlet hose. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

  9. Object Number: 1849420  Size: SH
  10. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.

  11. Object Number: 1849421  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses from the steering gear.
  13. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering gear outlet hose to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1849421  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses to the steering gear.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1849420  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  7. Restore and tighten the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

  8. Object Number: 1371690  Size: SH
  9. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering cooler inlet and outlet hose assembly (with V92) or the power steering fluid cooler (without V92).

  10. Object Number: 1301688  Size: SH
  11. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  14. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  15. Install the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  16. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
