Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement Left Hand Drive LH2

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

  7. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket nut (not shown) from the back of the power steering pump.
  8. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.

  9. Object Number: 1301597  Size: SH
  10. Remove the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.

  11. Object Number: 1301495  Size: SH
  12. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.

  13. Object Number: 908682  Size: SH
  14. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the steering gear.
  15. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 908682  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the steering gear.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1301495  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb in).


    Object Number: 1301597  Size: SH
  7. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1301852  Size: SH
  9. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump.
  10. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket nut (not shown) to the back of the power steering pump.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  12. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  13. Install the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  14. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  15. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  16. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement Left Hand Drive LY7

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

  7. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.

  8. Object Number: 1304393  Size: SH
  9. Remove the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.

  10. Object Number: 1301495  Size: SH
  11. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.

  12. Object Number: 908682  Size: SH
  13. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the steering gear.
  14. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 908682  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the steering gear.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1301495  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb in).


    Object Number: 1304393  Size: SH
  7. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1304375  Size: SH
  9. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump.
  10. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  11. Install the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  12. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  13. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  14. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement Right Hand Drive LH2

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

  7. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket nut (not shown) from the back of the power steering pump.
  8. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.

  9. Object Number: 1301597  Size: SH
  10. Remove the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  11. Lower the rear of the front frame to make room for removing the power steering gear inlet hose. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

  12. Object Number: 1849420  Size: SH
  13. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.

  14. Object Number: 1849421  Size: SH
  15. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the steering gear.
  16. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1849421  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the steering gear.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1849420  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb in).

  7. Restore and tighten the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

  8. Object Number: 1301597  Size: SH
  9. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1301852  Size: SH
  11. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump.
  12. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket nut (not shown) to the back of the power steering pump.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  14. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  15. Install the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  16. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  17. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  18. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement Right Hand Drive LY7

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

  7. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.

  8. Object Number: 1304393  Size: SH
  9. Remove the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  10. Lower the rear of the front frame to make room for removing the power steering gear inlet hose. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

  11. Object Number: 1849420  Size: SH
  12. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.

  13. Object Number: 1849421  Size: SH
  14. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the steering gear.
  15. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1849421  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the steering gear.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1849420  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb in).

  7. Restore and tighten the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

  8. Object Number: 1304393  Size: SH
  9. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose retaining bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump.
  12. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  13. Install the left side front bumper fascia extension. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Left Side .
  14. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  15. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  16. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
