Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1234236  Size: SH
  1. Using a flat-bladed tool, gently pry out the outer edge of the escutcheons (1) and push inward.
  2. Slide the escutcheon toward the center of the assist handle.

  3. Object Number: 1234238  Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 screws (1) that retain the assist handle to the roof panel.
  5. Remove the assist handle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1234238  Size: SH
  1. Position the assist handle to the headliner.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the two fasteners (1) to retain the assist handle to the roof panel.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Secure the assist handle escutheons (1) to the outer edges of the assist handle.
  6. Snap the escutheons in place to secure.
