The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The power liftgate actuator rod may be loose or disconnected from the liftgate or the liftgate close actuator. The cause could be the rod retainer has disengaged from the stud.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Notice: It may be necessary to use a flash light to view the liftgate rod retainers through the body side rear trim panel and liftgate trim panel.
Operate the power liftgate using the keyless entry transmitter a minimum of six times and inspect the retention of the power liftgate rod. If the arm is loose replace the power liftgate actuator rod with part number 25764012. Part number 25764012 (1) has plastic end caps on both ends.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
