The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment they hear 3 or 4 chimes when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) and into DRIVE.
Recommendation/Instructions:
On vehicles equipped with a 3rd Row Power Folding Seat, the cause for the warning chime may be that the 3rd row seat is not fully stowed in the closed position or in the full upright seating position. A chime will sound when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) and into DRIVE indicating that the seat is not ready for a passenger. Press and hold the seat switch until the seat travel stops.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
