Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2009 🢒 SRX 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Crankshaft Balancer Cleaning and Inspection

Cleaning Procedure
  1. Clean the crankshaft balancer in solvent that is compatible with the rubber.

    2. Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning in the Preface section.

  2. Dry the crankshaft balancer with compressed air.

Inspection Procedure

  1. Inspect the crankshaft balancer for the following:
    2. • Worn or damaged hub-to-crankshaft surface (1)
    • Damage to the keyway (2)
    • Worn, grooved or damaged hub seal surface (3) -- A crankshaft balancer hub seal surface with excessive scoring, grooves, rust or other damage must be replaced.
    • Worn, chunking or deteriorated rubber between the hub and pulley (4)
    • Damaged drive belt ribs (5)
    • Damaged threaded holes (6)
  2. Repair or replace the crankshaft balancer as necessary.
