Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning in the Preface section.
- Clean all parts with an approved solvent.
- Visually inspect all the parts for excessive wear or breakage. Replace the parts if necessary.
- Inspect the pinion gear (111) and the side gear teeth (107) for any of the following conditions:
- Inspect the thrust washers for wear (112).
- Inspect the fit of the side gears (107) on the axle shafts.
- Inspect the differential case (104, 105) for cracks and scoring.
Note: The differential case is serviced as an assembly and not serviced separately.
- Inspect the differential case for damage or excessive wear.
