J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
- Drain the coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling.
- Disconnect the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector and reposition aside.
- Using the
J 38185 , disengage and reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp.
- Disconnect the surge tank outlet hose.
- Using the
J 38185 , disengage and reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamp.
- Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose.
- Remove the surge tank bolt.
- Remove the surge tank nut.
- Disconnect the low coolant sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the surge tank.
Installation Procedure
- Install the surge tank.
- Connect the low coolant sensor electrical connector.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the surge tank nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the surge tank bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
Note: Lubricate the inside diameters of the hoses with clean coolant prior to installation.
- Connect the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank.
- Using the
J 38185 , reposition the hose clamp to secure the surge tank inlet hose.
- Connect the surge tank outlet hose.
- Using the
J 38185 , reposition the hose clamp to secure the surge tank outlet hose.
- Connect the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling.
