Power Steering Pump Replacement LH2

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
  3. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  5. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.

  6. Object Number: 888270  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
  8. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.

  9. Object Number: 888275  Size: SH
  10. Remove the power steering pump bolt.

  11. Object Number: 888277  Size: SH
  12. Remove the power steering pump bracket bolt.
  13. Remove the power steering pump and bracket from the vehicle.
  14. Transfer the power steering pump bracket, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump and bracket to the vehicle.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 888277  Size: SH
  3. Install the power steering pump bracket bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).


    Object Number: 888275  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering pump bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump.

  8. Object Number: 888270  Size: SH
  9. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  10. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  11. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  12. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
  13. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  14. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.

Power Steering Pump Replacement LY7

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
  3. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  5. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.

  7. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.

  8. Object Number: 1304375  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.

  10. Object Number: 888286  Size: SH
  11. Remove the power steering pump bracket bolts.
  12. Remove the power steering pump and bracket from the vehicle.
  13. Transfer the power steering pump bracket, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump and bracket to the vehicle.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 888286  Size: SH
  3. Install the power steering pump bracket bolts in the sequence shown.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump.

  6. Object Number: 1300041  Size: SH
  7. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  8. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  9. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  10. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
  11. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  12. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
