Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1379002  Size: SH
  1. Remove the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement.
  2. Remove the HVAC module case screws.

  3. Object Number: 1379007  Size: SH
  4. Remove the HVAC module retainer clips.

  5. Object Number: 1379003  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the HVAC Module wiring harness (1) from the RH temperature actuator and reposition the wiring harness aside.
  7. Disconnect and reposition the evaporator core temperature sensor connector (2) and reposition aside.

  8. Object Number: 1378984  Size: SH
  9. Separate the HVAC module.

  10. Object Number: 1378986  Size: SH
  11. Remove the evaporator core.

  12. Object Number: 802751  Size: SH
  13. Remove the thermistor from the evaporator core.

Installation Procedure

  1. Add refrigerant oil to the evaporator core. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.
  2. Install the new evaporator core seals to evaporator.

  3. Object Number: 802751  Size: SH
  4. Install the thermistor to the evaporator.

  5. Object Number: 1378986  Size: SH
  6. Install the evaporator core.

  7. Object Number: 1378984  Size: SH
  8. Connect the HVAC module case halves together.
  9. Reposition and connect the evaporator core temperature sensor connector.

  10. Object Number: 1379003  Size: SH
  11. Reposition and connect the HVAC Module wiring harness (1) to the RH temperature actuator.

  12. Object Number: 1379007  Size: SH
  13. Install the HVAC module retainer clips.
  14. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  15. Install the HVAC module case screws and tighten to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  16. Object Number: 1379002  Size: SH
  17. Install the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement.
