Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1285253 Size: SH
  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the front compartment sight shields as necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement in Body Front End.

    3. Important: Do not remove the engine control module (ECM) from the ECM bracket.

    Do not remove the ECM redundant ground wire from the ECM.

  3. Remove the ECM bracket bolts and reposition the ECM bracket in order to provide access.
  4. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.

    5. Object Number: 1285252 Size: SH
  5. Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
  6. Remove the CMP sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1285252 Size: SH
  1. Install the CMP sensor.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the CMP sensor bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the CMP sensor bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the ECM bracket with the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
  5. Install the front compartment sight shields as necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement in Body Front End.
