Instrument Panel Module (IPM) Replacement

If the instrument panel module (IPM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:

  1. Setup New IPM
  2. Program vehicle identification number (VIN)
  3. Brake pedal position (BPP) sensor calibration

Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) Replacement

If the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) is replaced, update the SDM number in IPM. This number also called restraints ID represents the last four digits of SDM part number. On the Tech 2 menu Module Setup > SDM, perform Setup SDM Part Number in IPM function.

Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Sensor Replacement

If the brake pedal position (BPP) sensor is replaced, the BPP Sensor Calibration procedure must be performed. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration in Lighting Systems.
