Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn the ignition ON.
  2. Press the windshield washer switch.

Do the windshield washers operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the windshield wiper/washer module harness connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire from the accessory voltage circuit of the module connector to the washer pump control circuit of the module connector.

Does the windshield washer pump operate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a test lamp from the windshield wiper switch signal 2 circuit of the wiper/washer module connector to a good ground.
  2. Press the windshield washer switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Test the control circuit of the windshield washer pump for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ground circuit of the windshield washer pump for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the windshield wiper switch signal 2 circuit for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

DEFINITION: This diagnostic table verifies the integrity of the heated windshield washer nozzle circuitry. The windshield washer fluid pump operates OK.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Disconnect the inoperative heated windshield washer nozzle connector.
  2. Connect a test light from the accessory voltage circuit of the washer nozzle connector to a good ground.
  3. Turn the ignition ON.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 3

Connect the test light across the connector terminals of the inoperative washer nozzle connector.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative heated windshield washer nozzle. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the high resistance or open in the accessory voltage circuit of the heated windshield washer nozzle. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the high resistance or open in the ground circuit of the heated windshield washer nozzle. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
