Instrument Panel Module (IPM) Scan Tool Data Definitions

The Instrument Panel Module (IPM) Scan Tool Data Definitions contains a brief description of all steering column related SCLCM parameters available on the scan tool.

Battery Voltage Signal: The scan tool displays 0-20 volts. The scan tool displays the voltage as received on the battery positive voltage circuit of the module.

Column Lock Relay: The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. This signal determines whether or not the IPM is allowing the steering column lock to function.

Telescope Forward Switch: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. When the switch is pressed to the forward position the scan tool displays Active. When the switch is not pressed forward the scan tool displays Inactive.

Telescope Rearward Switch: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. When the switch is pressed to the rearward position the scan tool displays Active. When the switch is not pressed rearward the scan tool displays Inactive.

Tilt Down Switch: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. When the switch is pressed to the down position the scan tool displays Active. When the switch is not pressed down the scan tool displays Inactive.

Tilt Up Switch: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. When the switch is pressed to the up position the scan tool displays Active. When the switch is not pressed up the scan tool displays Inactive.

Memory Seat Module (MSM) Scan Tool Data Definitions

The Memory Seat Module (MSM) Scan Tool Data Definitions contains a brief description of all steering column related MSM parameters available on the scan tool.

Default Telescope Exit Position: The scan tool displays the default voltage value for the telescope operation in the exit position.

Default Tilt Exit Position: The scan tool displays the default voltage value for the tilt operation in the exit position.

Driver 1 Memorized Position (Telescope): The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the telescope sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the telescope position for driver 1.

Driver 1 Memorized Position (Tilt): The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the telescope sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the tilt position for driver 1.

Driver 2 Memorized Position (Telescope): The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the telescope sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the telescope position for driver 2.

Driver 2 Memorized Position (Tilt): The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the telescope sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the tilt position for driver 2.

Memory 1 Telescope Exit Position: The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the telescope sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the telescope exit position for driver 1.

Memory 1 Tilt Exit Position: The scan tool display 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the tilt sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the tilt exit position for driver 1.

Memory 2 Telescope Exit Position: The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the telescope sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the telescope exit position for driver 2.

Memory 2 Tilt Exit Position: The scan tool display 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the tilt sensor voltage stored by the MSM and is used to recall the tilt exit position for driver 2.

Telescope Forward Command: The scan displays On or Off. The scan tool displays On when the MSM commands the telescope actuator forward.

Telescope Rearward Command: The scan displays On or Off. The scan tool displays On when the MSM commands the telescope actuator rearward.

Telescope Sensor: The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the telescope sensor signal voltage. This voltage varies when the steering column is moved forward or rearward and is used by the MSM to determine the steering column position when memory settings are stored and recalled.

Telescope Soft Stops Learned: The scan tool displays Yes if the telescope soft stops have been learned. If the scan tool displays No, the learn procedure must be performed.

Tilt Down Command: The scan displays On or Off. The scan tool displays On when the MSM commands the tilt actuator down.

Tilt Sensor: The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. The value displayed is the tilt sensor signal voltage. This voltage varies when the steering column is moved up or down and is used by the MSM to determine the steering column position when memory settings are stored and recalled.

Tilt Soft Stops Learned: The scan tool displays Yes if the tilt soft stops have been learned. If the scan tool displays No, the learn procedure must be performed.

Steering Column Lock Control Module (SCLCM) Scan Tool Data Definitions

The Steering Column Lock Control Module (SCLCM) Scan Tool Data Definitions contains a brief description of all SCLCM parameters available on the scan tool.

Column Lock Relay Command: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state displayed is the command state of the lock enable relay.

Column Lock Relay Signal: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state displayed is the actual state of the lock enable relay.
