Removal Procedure

    Caution: Do NOT attempt to repair or alter the bracket on the child seat restraint system. If the bracket is damaged, replace the entire bracket. Altering the bracket could result in personal injury.

  1. Remove the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 729861  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt that retains the child tether anchor that is being serviced.
  4. Remove the child tether anchor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Important: During installation ensure that the child tether anchors are installed with the anti-rotation tabs firmly seated in the anti-rotation tab holes on the cross car beam.

  1. Install the child tether anchor to the cross car beam.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the child tether anchor bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement .
