The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
The vehicle may exhibit a water leak on the driver side floor.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The waterleak may be coming through the "A-Pillar Baffle" that was developed to seal the entire base of the A-Pillar / lower corner of the windshield. In this area, approximately 6 pieces of metal are coming together: plenum upper, plenum lower, front body hinge pillar inner, shear plate and front body hinge pillar outer. We have seen in some instances, where the baffle does not seal completely and(or) the paint shop flowable sealer is not completely sealing the top. Remove the air inlet grille to expose the baffles, then applying some Kent Air-Dry sealer over the top of the baffle and along the sides will usually correct the issues. Kent Air-Dry sealer can be obtained by calling Premier/Kent Automotive order hotline: 1-800-654-6333. Kent High Tech Seam sealer (clear) in small tube (5oz) #P10200, or larger caulk tube for caulk gun (11oz) #P10195.
