Windows Will Not Express Up Using the Secure Car Feature - kw button control function inaccurate GMX295 inoperative lock RKE security window

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

The 2005 Cadillac STS Owners manual (pages 2-5 and 2-19) incorrectly state that the vehicle is equipped with a "secure car feature" that would allow the customer to express up the vehicles windows by pressing and holding the lock button on the keyless entry transmitter.

This feature is not currently available. A letter will be mailed to customers notifying them of the change to the Owners manual.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
