03-05 Cadillac CTS SRX STS DTC P0442 - EVAP System Servicing - kw canister emissions fuel leak line MIL part pipe SES tank tube vent valve

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Diagnosis of an SES light on and DTC P0442 leads to a leak at the convoluted tube (vent valve pipe) from fuel tank to canister.

The fuel tank must be replaced. The tank will come with a new vent valve and tube. The vent valve and tube are not serviced separately from the tank assembly. Do not transfer the tube from the service tank. Note: canister and purge pipe are serviced separately.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
