No Tech 2 Communication With Non-Navigation Radio 2005 Cadillac STS - kw data DTC program

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

While servicing a 2005 Cadillac STS the Technician may notice there is no communication between the Tech 2 and the Radio on vehicles equipped with RPO U2S or YQ2 non-Navigation Radio. The Radio will function normally and communicate with all other on board modules.

No repair is necessary unless Tech 2 to Radio communication is needed for diagnosis of a Radio concern. Replacement Radio's, P/N 15226033 for RPO U2S and P/N 15226034 for RPO YQ2 have updated software that will allow Tech 2 communication.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
