The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
When turning off the ignition with the highbeam headlights on, the headlights will be at lowbeam intensity when the vehicle is restarted even though the headlamp dimmer/multi-function switch is still in the highbeam position (switch forward).
Recommendation/Instructions:
This is a normal operating characteristic of this vehicle. When the multi-function switch is cycled from the highbeam position back to lowbeam and then back to the highbeam position, the highbeam headlights will come back on.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
