The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
2005 Cadillac STS equipped with all wheel drive (RPO MV3) may experience a Service Stability Sys, Service Brake Assist and/or Radar Cruise Not Ready messages displayed on DIC. DTC C0035 or C0040 set. This condition could be caused by Wheel Speed Sensor wires routed too close to the Drive Axle and are getting chafed by the outer CV Joint.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect the WSS wiring near the outer CV Joints, if damage is found, replace the affected Hub and Bearing assembly (PN 89060208) and bend the Splash Shield bracket to provide adequate clearance to the Drive Axle.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
