Subject:Driver Power Seat and Tilt/Telescoping Steering Wheel are Inoperative, Loss of Communication or Other Various Electrical Concerns

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some 2005 Cadillac STS may experience one or more of the following: Driver power seat, Driver heated/vented seat, Tilt/Telescope steering column, and/or Steering Wheel Controls inoperative, IPC warning lights on or various other electrical concerns. The Technician may find a DTC B1000, U2103 or a loss of communication with the Tech 2. The Technician may also find a blown DPM fuse.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Inspect the wiring harness underneath the driver seat for chafing against the seat adjuster arm when the seat is moved. If chaffing is found, repair the wiring and reroute the harness away from the seat adjuster.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
