The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Step 10 of the Distance Sensing Cruise Control (DSCC) Aiming Procedure listed in eSI Document ID # 1490013 gives incorrect measurements for aligning the DSCC radar on this vehicle.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The Distance Sensing Cruise Control (DSCC) Aiming Procedure step 10 should read:

Paint a 51 mm (2 in) circle on the wall to be used as a target. Complete the following to find the proper location of the target.

   • 

Measure 660.40 mm (2 ft 2 in) (a) from the floor on the wall for the vertical location.

   • 

Measure 908.05 mm (2 ft 9.25 in) (b) from the outer edge of the 50 mm (2 in) reference line on the wall for the horizon location.

   • 

Draw the 51 mm (2 in) (c) circle on the wall where these two measures cross.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
