Service VME - Compass is Only Visible in Navigation Mode - keywords Intellibeam TQ5 UE1

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some owners of 2005 Cadillac STS with the Navigation system may comment that the compass is only visible while in the Navigation mode. This is a normal condition. An Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass (DD7) and OnStar (UE1) controls but without Intellibeam headlamps (TQ5) can be installed at owner expense and is P/N 25743653. There is no substitute mirror available for vehicles with Intellibeam headlamps.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
