This bulletin is being revised to add the hood latch part number. Please discard Advance Service Information Bulletin Number 05-08-45-001 (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment that the DIC indicates that the hood is open or the content theft alarm goes off for no reason when the car is parked and locked. The switch will drain out quickly so no problem found is usually the case.
Technicians may find that DTC B3006 may have been stored in the RIM.
Cause
This condition may be caused by water that has leaked into the hood ajar switch, causing a temporary short.
Correction
Install a new hood latch assembly. Refer to SI Document ID 1461775.
