Squawk Noise from Steering - keywords bump clamp end front inner noise rod rust squeak tie turn water

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Squawk or squeak type noise from the front end when turning or driving over bumps. The outer clamp for the inner tie rod boot may be loose allowing water into the boot and causing rust to build up on the surface of the inner tie rod.

Remove the clamp and pull back the Inner Tie Rod Boot. Inspect for rust build up on the inner tie rod joint. If rust is present, replace the steering gear assembly.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
