Remote Vehicle Start Inoperative (Check IPM Part Number) - keywords entry keyless no RVS vehicle

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Remote Vehicle Start (RVS) inop. This may be noticed after replacement of the Instrument Panel Module (IPM). In some cases, the IPM was replaced during a previous repair and the RVS was not used for some time.

Ensure the correct part number IPM is installed. If a 2006 Model Year IPM is installed in a 2005 vehicle the RVS will be inop. Some quick indicators can be identified in the IPM/ Remote Start/ Data Display using the Tech 2. The Remote Start Equipped parameter with display INACTIVE and the Remote Starts Remaining parameter will read 0 in if the wrong part is installed. The 2005 Model Year STS IPM is P/N 10379086. The 2006 Model Year IPM is P/N 15262719.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
