Models:2005- 2007 Cadillac STS and STS-V with RPO YQ4


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

The Navigation Radio Parental Level Password is unknown or cannot be recalled.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The parental control level/ password can be reset using the Tech 2.

  1. Insert and play a CD (must only be an audio CD).
  2. Select Entertainment> Special Functions> Navigation Radio> Parental Password> Reset
  3. Switch Ignition Mode to OFF. Open the driver door to end the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) timer and allow the vehicle to enter OFF-ASLEEP power mode to store the settings.

Note: The Customer can configure the password manually using the instructions in the Navigation System owner manual, or leave it open to default.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
