The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Dealers may comment when attempting to install the OnStar Analog to Digital upgrade kits on a 2005 Cadillac STS the incorrect mirror assembly was sent and/or they have an extra connector.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The OnStar upgrade kit for the 2005 Cadillac STS comes with a redesigned mirror assembly part number 15850531 which has an internal compass and no longer requires the additional lead near the 16 way connector. Simply install the new redesigned mirror assembly and discard the old one; part number 25743653

Important Note: When installing the OnStar Analog to Digital upgrade kits it is very important to use all the components sent in the kit. Failure to install the mirror assembly and/or other pieces of the kit will result in dropped calls and no connect concerns.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
