Subject: | Poor Keyless Access Range (Inspect Connection) |
Models: | 2005- 2007 Cadillac STS and STS-V |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A customer may comment the Keyless Access System has poor range.
The most likely cause is a poor connection of the external antenna lead (1) to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). Gain access to the RCDLR and gently pull on the external antenna lead (1). If it comes out, it wasn't seated properly. Inspect the connector to make sure the pin is not bent. A "click" should be heard when reinstalling the connector. Pull on the wire again to make sure it is seated. If this does not correct the poor range condition, check the antenna connection (2) at the back glass located behind the driver side sail panel.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
