DEFINITION: This test assumes that all DTCs have been diagnosed.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Observe the LED indicator on the window lockout switch button.
  3. Momentarily press the window lockout switch button.
  4. Momentarily press the window lockout switch button again.

Does the LED indicator illuminate when the window lockout switch button is first pressed, then go out when it is pressed again?

Go to Step 3

Important:: Verify that the passenger window lockout option is selected as ON in the vehicle owner customization menu. If the window lockout selection is OFF, set it to ON and verify that the fault is still present.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. With the scan tool, observe the Window Lockout Switch parameter in the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) data list.
  3. Press and hold the window lockout switch button.
  4. Release the window lockout switch button.

Does the scan tool display On when you press the switch and Off when you are not pressing it?

  1. Momentarily press the window lockout switch button until the switch LED indicator is illuminated.
  2. Attempt to operate each passenger window from there respective window switches mounted on the passenger doors.

Do the windows still operate from their associated window switch?

Go to Step 6

Did one of the rear windows still operate in step 4?

Go to Step 7

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the DDSA. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door control module associated with the window that continued to operate. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Replace the DDSA. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

Replace the door control module associated with the window that continued to operate. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
