1. Door Ajar Malfunction |
The door module(s) receive a discreet input from the door ajar switch. When the door is open, the door ajar switch is closed. This grounds the door ajar switch signal circuit to the door module. The IPC and the IRC receives the status of the door ajar switch from the door module via a serial data message. When the door is open and the vehicle is in any gear other than park, the DIC displays the door ajar message.
Instrument Cluster Description and Operation
⇒ | If greater than 1 ohm, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not, test the door ajar switch signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the suspect door control module. |
⇒ | If not, test the door ajar switch signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the suspect door control module. |
