Notice: This engine uses a special high performance oil filter. Use of any other filter may lead to filter failure and/or severe engine damage.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.

Oil Drain Plug

Tip

    • Clean and inspect the oil drain plug and the mating surface on the oil pan.
    • Replace parts as necessary.

Tighten
20 N·m (15 lb ft)

Oil Filter

Tip

    • Clean and inspect the oil filter sealing area on the oil filter adapter. Replace as necessary.
    • Fill the new oil filter with oil.
    • Lightly lubricate the oil filter gasket with oil.

Tighten
32 N·m (24 lb ft)
