Circuit Description
The window switches are contained within the driver window switch. The driver window switch internally supplies power and ground to the contacts of each of the integral window switches. When one of the switches is operated, the switch contacts close, providing
the driver window switch with a specific window switch signal. The driver window switch processes this signal, assigns a digital message to it, and sends the message to the appropriate driver door module (DDM), passenger front door module (PDM), left rear door
module (LRDM), or right rear door module (RRDM), via the serial data circuit. The door module, upon receiving the message, examines other relevant information available on the serial data circuit in order to determine if conditions are correct for window operation
to occur. If conditions are correct, the door module commands the associated window motor and circuits in order to move the window.
Conditions for Running the DTC
• | The DDM and the driver window switch must be powered. |
• | DTC B1325 must not be current. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The driver window switch detects that one of the window switches is closed for greater than 15 seconds.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The action taken depends on which switch contacts are closed:
• | If the driver window switch detects an UP command for greater than 15 seconds, both UP and DOWN signals from that switch will be ignored until the input is no longer detected, or the ignition is cycled from OFF to RUN. |
• | If the driver window switch detects an DOWN command for greater than 15 seconds, both UP and DOWN signals from that switch will be ignored until the input is no longer detected, or the ignition is cycled from OFF to RUN. |
• | If the driver window switch detects an EXPRESS UP or EXPRESS DOWN input for greater than 15 seconds, express functions for that switch are disabled until the driver window switch no longer detects the input. |
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |
