The power steering control module (PSCM) actively monitors the steering actuator sensor circuits.
Engine running.
• | The actuator sensor is out of position when the lock is ON and the ignition is OFF. |
• | The actuator sensor is out of position when the lock is OFF and the ignition is ON. |
• | The actuator sensor rotation is out of position when the lock is ON and the ignition is ON or OFF. |
• | The lock solenoid voltage is greater then 3 volts when the lock is ON and the relay is ON. |
• | Active Steering is disabled. |
• | SERVICE STEERING SYS and/or STABILITY SECURE MODE is displayed on the DIC. |
• | A current DTC will clear on the next malfunction free ignition cycle. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive malfunction free ignition cycles. |

Replace the steering actuator. Operate the vehicle within the Condition for Setting the DTC. Verify DTC C047A 08 does not reset.
