Discharge Hose Replacement LH2

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the LH wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  5. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 1570339  Size: SH
  7. Remove the discharge hose bolt at the compressor.
  8. Separate the compressor discharge hose from the compressor.

  9. Object Number: 1570340  Size: SH
  10. Remove the discharge hose bolt from the condenser.
  11. Separate the discharge line from the condenser.
  12. Remove the discharge hose.
  13. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1570340  Size: SH
  1. Install new O-rings. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Install the discharge hose.
  3. Connect the discharge hose to the compressor.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the discharge hose bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  7. Connect the discharge hose to the compressor.
  8. Install the bolt to the discharge hose.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  10. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  11. Install the LH wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  12. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  13. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Using J 39400-A , leak test the fittings of the component.

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  3. Object Number: 1567438  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  5. Remove the LH wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  6. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  7. Remove the bolt that holds the compressor discharge hose to the compressor.
  8. Separate the compressor discharge hose from the compressor.

  9. Object Number: 1567441  Size: SH
  10. Remove the discharge hose bolt from the condenser.
  11. Separate the discharge line from the condenser.
  12. Remove the discharge hose.
  13. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1567441  Size: SH
  1. Install new O-rings. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Install the discharge hose.
  3. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the discharge hose bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  7. Connect the discharge hose to compressor.
  8. Install the discharge hose bolt.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  10. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  11. Install the LH wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  12. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  13. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Using J 39400-A , leak test the fittings of the component.
