J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 799114  Size: SH
  4. Remove the desiccant bag plug (1).

  5. Object Number: 1387887  Size: SH

    Important: Record any of the lost PAG oil from the desiccant bag to maintain the correct total system amount.

  6. Remove the desiccant bag (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1387887  Size: SH
  1. Install the desiccant bag (1).
  2. Lubricate the O-rings on the desiccant bag plug. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 799114  Size: SH
  4. Install the desiccant bag plug (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 2.9 N·m (26 lb in).

  6. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Add the proper amount of oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  9. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  10. Using J 39400-A , leak test the fittings of the component .
