The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

While performing the Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test, some technicians may notice that the HVAC Control Head stays awake and draws up to 33 milliamps for up to three hours after the ignition is turned off.

Recommendation/Instructions:

This is a normal condition caused by the HVAC Control Head updating the outside temperature reading. No repairs should be attempted.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
