The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment on an illuminated MIL where a DTC P2534 is found in the TCM as a history or active DTC.
A revised transmission calibration has been developed to address this DTC. Reprogram the transmission control module (TCM) with updated calibration files using the TIS2WEB Service Programming System (SPS) application. As always, make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.
This DTC may also be caused by low Ignition 1 voltage at the TCM. If this DTC is not corrected with the revised calibration be sure to inspect the wire harness from the underhood fuse block to the TCM, especially in the right rear area of engine. The harness may have chaffed on the engine causing damage to the Ignition 1 circuit 339, Pink wire. If wire damage is found refer to Wiring Repairs in SI for further directions on repairing the wire.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
