Removal Procedure

Warning: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.

Warning: Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing fuel system components in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury.

After relieving the system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines or connections. In order to reduce the chance of personal injury, cover the regulator and the fuel line fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting. This will catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when the disconnection is complete.

  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Remove the front section of the supercharger inlet duct assembly. Refer to Supercharger Inlet Duct Assembly Replacement.
  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief.

    4. Object Number: 1649002 Size: SH
  4. Place a shop towel under the engine compartment fuel line fittings (2,4) in order to capture any remaining fuel that may drain from the fuel line.
  5. Remove the quick connect retainer clips from the fittings.
  6. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel line fitting (2) from the chassis fuel feed pipe. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  7. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel line fitting (4) from the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  8. Remove the engine compartment fuel line from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the engine compartment fuel line to the vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 1649002 Size: SH
  2. Connect the engine compartment fuel line fitting (4) to the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  3. Connect the engine compartment fuel line fitting (2) to the chassis fuel feed pipe. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  4. Install the quick connect retainer clips to the fuel line fittings (2,4).
  5. Install the front section of the supercharger inlet duct assembly. Refer to Supercharger Inlet Duct Assembly Replacement.
  6. Install the fuel tank fill cap.
  7. Check the fuel system for leaks.
  8. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.
