For 1990-2009 cars only
- Install the oil pump body to oil pump cover alignment dowels.
- Install the oil pump relief valve plunger, relief valve spring and relief valve plug then tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Install the oil pump driven and drive gears. The outer driven gear has one chamfered edge. The chamfered edge of the driven gear must face-down into the oil pump body.
- Pack the pump body housing with clean white petroleum jelly to ensure pump priming.
- Install the oil pump body cover.
- Install the oil pump body bolts and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Install the oil pump drive spacer.
