Suction Hose Replacement LY7

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  4. Object Number: 1570763  Size: SH
  5. Remove the LH wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  6. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement.
  7. Remove the suction hose bolt at the compressor.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Remove the suction hose retaining screw from the clamp and/or bracket.
  10. Separate the liquid line from the A/C suction line bracket.

  11. Object Number: 1570764  Size: SH
  12. Remove the suction hose quick connect fitting at the bulk head. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement.
  13. Disconnect the suction hose from the evaporator core.
  14. Remove the suction hose from the vehicle.
  15. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new O-rings into the suction hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.
  2. Install the suction hose.

  3. Object Number: 1570764  Size: SH
  4. Connect the suction hose to the evaporator core.
  5. Install the suction hose quick connect fitting. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement.
  6. Position the liquid line into the bracket.
  7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Install the suction hose retaining screw into the bracket and tighten to 1 N·m (9 lb in).
  9. Raise the vehicle.

  10. Object Number: 1570763  Size: SH
  11. Connect the suction hose to the compressor.
  12. Install the retaining bolt to the compressor and tighten to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).
  13. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement.
  14. Install the LH wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  17. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  18. Using J 39400-A , leak test the fittings of the component.

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  4. Remove the LH wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  5. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement.

  6. Object Number: 1570341  Size: SH
  7. Remove the suction hose bolt at the compressor.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Remove the suction hose retaining screw from the clamp.

  10. Object Number: 1570342  Size: SH
  11. Separate the liquid line from the A/C suction line bracket.
  12. Remove the suction hose quick connect fitting at the bulk head. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement.
  13. Disconnect the suction hose from the evaporator core.
  14. Remove the suction hose from the vehicle.
  15. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install new O-rings onto the suction hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.

  2. Object Number: 1570342  Size: SH
  3. Install the suction hose.
  4. Connect the suction hose to the evaporator core.
  5. Install the suction hose quick connect fitting. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement.
  6. Position the liquid line into the bracket.
  7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Install the suction hose retaining screw into the clamp and tighten to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  10. Raise the vehicle.
  11. Connect the suction hose to the compressor.
  12. Install the retaining bolt to the compressor and tighten to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).
  13. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement.
  14. Install the LH wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  17. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  18. Using J 39400-A , leak test the fittings of the component.
